Fire Stations/Public Sector Projects
Manlius Fire Station—Manlius, New York
Our design team provided site design engineering services for this new fire station project in the Village of Manlius, New York. Working closely with the architectural team and the fire station building committee, site selection, and presentations during the referendum process were provided. Site design services included a regional stormwater study to assure the new facility did not adversely impact a sensitive area tributary to a local watercourse. Napierala Consulting provided complete site design and construction services for this community project.
Fayetteville Fire Station—Manlius, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the Village, Project Architect, and Construction Management team to provide site design, permitting and construction oversight for this fire station project serving the Village of Fayetteville.
This project included the redevelopment of an existing historical fire station in the Village while maintaining the immediately attached Village offices. Permitting included local planning board approval, New York State Department of Transportation approval and negotiation and approvals from the local historical and landscaping boards within the Village.
Throughout construction, we worked with the construction management team to assure the successful completion of the project.
NYS Linesman Safety Training Facility—Cicero, New York
Napierala Consulting was involved in three separate buildings for this project. The first building was a new Training Center on site. Storm water analysis and drainage design as well as SWPPP inspections were performed for this building.
The second building was a new 15,000 square foot office building on site. Detailed site plans including: site layout, grading and erosion, utility, landscaping, lighting, and detail plans were provided. All permitting was obtained and approved. Construction phase services were provided including: construction plans, responses to contractor’s questions; and weekly SWPPP reports.
The third building is a new 11,200 square foot warehouse/storage building along with an expanded training yard. Conceptual plans and detailed design plans were provided and approved by the town. Prior to construction, the site had to be investigated for threatened and endangered species (Indiana Bat). Construction for this phase began in the fall of 2021.
Schonowe Fire Company—Town of Rotterdam, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the Rotterdam Fire District, project architect, and construction management team to provide site design, permitting and construction oversight for this fire station project serving the Town of Rotterdam.
This project included schematic plan development along with assistance with several pre referendum public forums. Along with design plans the design phase included sewer connection, plans, storm water pollution prevention plan, and all permitting approvals. Throughout construction, we worked with the construction management team to assure the successful completion of the project.
Charlton Fire District Station #1—Town of Charlton, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the Charlton Fire District #1, project architect, and Construction management team to provide assistance in the public referendum as well as site design services, and construction phase services for this fire station project serving the Charlton Fire District #1 in the Town of Charlton, New York.
The civil engineering design services included: site plan development; septic system design, well water supply, storm water management and local approvals.
Burnt Hills Fire Department—Town of Ballston, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the Burnt Hills Fire District, project architect, and construction management team to provide site design, permitting and construction oversight for this fire station project serving the hamlet of Burnt Hills within the Town of Ballston in Saratoga County, New York.
The civil engineering development of this project included a conceptual phase including a phase I ESA, SEQRA determination, public forum attendance and conceptual designs. The design phase of this project included site plans, water extension plans, storm water design, septic design plans, and all permitting and approval.
Tully Fire Department—Village of Tully, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the Tully Fire District, project architect, and construction management team to provide site design, permitting and construction oversight for this fire station project serving the Village and Town of Tully.
This project included the demolition of an existing antiquated fire barn and the design and construction of a new masonry brick fire station. Permitting included local planning board approval as well as New York State Department of Transportation approval.
Keene Fire Station—Town of Keene, New York
On August 28, 2011, Tropical Storm Irene hit the North Country and caused devastation. Not immune to the tragedy was the Keene Fire House which was completely destroyed when a branch of the Ausable River breached its banks and took most of the existing station downstream.
Our design team joined the construction management team led by Hueber Breuer construction and worked in concert with the fire commissioners and town members to provide new site selection, site design, permitting and construction oversight for a new modern fire station facility that will support the region for many years to come.
This project included working with town, state and federal officials in providing backup technical support to assist the project with obtaining state and federal funding. Right to Build permits were applied for and acquired from the Town of Keene Planning Board, The Adirondack Park Association, New York State Department of Transportation, and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Jonesville Fire Station #2—Town of Clifton Park, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the construction management team to provide site design, permitting and construction oversight for this fire station rehabilitation project.
This project included the development of an existing site with jurisdictional wetlands and 100-year floodplain concerns. Right to Build permits were applied for and acquired from the Town of Clifton Park Planning Board, New York State Department of Transportation, and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Jamesville Fire Station—Town of Dewitt, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the construction management team to provide site design, permitting and construction oversight for this fire station project serving a fire district area that includes the hamlet of Jamesville in the southern portion of Dewitt.
This project included the development of a 5-acre hillside site off of a State Highway. Permitting included local planning board approval, water line extension from a county water authority, subsurface sanitary sewer discharge permit from the County Health Department, a stormwater permit from the State Department of Environmental Conservation and a highway improvement permit from the New York State Department of Transportation.
Alplaus Fire Department—Glenville, New York
Our design team worked in concert with the construction management team to provide site design, permitting and construction oversight for this fire station project in the town of Glenville, NY.
This project included the restoration of the existing fire station and the construction of a new fire bay facility to serve the district.
Fayetteville-Manlius High School Turf Field—Manlius, New York
Napierala Consulting provided civil engineering services for this private development project on public (school) property. The project consisted of converting a grass field and deteriorating track into a synthetic turf playing surface and a new track. Our design team provided graphic layouts, planning, stormwater management, construction access management and construction oversight services.
Maine-Endwell High School Turf Field—Endwell, New York
Our design team worked with HMH Site and Sports Design team for Maine-Endwell High School sports field project. The civil site engineering services Napierala Consulting provided included a stormwater mitigation design, sanitary sewer service and a water supply design for this new facility.
